  What’s up guys! Finally, we are at the conclusion of the trilogy of me listening to Mac Miller and giving my takes. For this part, we’ll be covering the albums, “GO:OD AM”, “The Divine Feminine”, “Swimming”, and “Circles”. Let’s get right into it.                 The first album I listened to after “Faces” was “GO:OD AM”. To recap on what I thought of Mac’s work before this, it was pretty dark. The topics of drug dependency, identity, and the harsh lifestyle that comes with success were pretty common in Mac’s work up to this point. While it did create a lot of interesting songs, there was a point in “Faces” where I saw a dark side of Mac that worried me. Today I am going to go over my opinion on the recently released Trippie Redd album, “NEON SHARK vs. Pegasus (Deluxe: Presented by Travis Barker)”. This is pretty much the deluxe version of Trippie’s “Pegasus” album that came out in 2020. Before we even touch the music, I wanted to talk about a new trend that I’ve been noticing in the rap genre these past couple of months. This trend is what I call the “DELUXE PACKAGE” (caps are necessary) where an artist releases a full length project, and instead of creating a deluxe album with a couple extra songs, we get the DELUXE PACKAGE which contains almost an entirely new project with a good amount of songs attached on top of the original album. For this week’s blog post I decided to do something different where I listen to the whole discography of an artist and talk about what makes them special as we discuss the concepts that came out of his/her projects. For the first blog post of this sort, I decided to focus on Mac Miller because not only have I heard a lot about him, I feel like he was one of those underrated artists that had a lot to say in the short amount of time he had to spread it. THE FUTURE BITES is an album coming from artist Steven Wilson, someone who I never listened to. Not knowing anything about him or this project, I decided to listen to the song that came out before the album “MAN OF THE PEOPLE”. Bobby · Smino Stream What’s up guys! So on Tuesday, I decided to listen to an artist I’ve heard about for a while due to my friends. His name is Smino, and he’s a part of a trend of hip hop that I’ve noticed has taken a space in the rap atmosphere with its usage of funk, electro-beat, and chill hip hop beats. I didn’t listen Smino before, so it was something new to experience as I played his music. Upon listening to the starting track of his album “blkswn”, I knew this was going to be something different. Smino uses his opportunity to use his debut project as a chance to combine his identity and his unique sound he’s created. Songs like Glass Flow, B Role, and Amphetamine show his usage of calmer yet sophisticated rhymes as he talks about his complicated life surrounding maturity and substance abuse. Like I talked about in my “About Me” page, the way I created the video attached to this post was through a Twitch stream where I listen to music I haven’t listened to before and give my take on it.
