Justin Bieber's "Justice"
H E L L O ! Welcome back to another
week of this juicy blogging. Today I’m going over an album that came out this
week, Justin Bieber’s “Justice”. At first, I didn’t see this album as a big
deal but if there’s one thing I know about today’s pop culture, it’s that Justin
Bieber has constantly been on the icon list ever since his “Baby, Baby” song came
out back when I was in the 5th grade (I graduated college this year
so it’s been a while). That being said, I wanted to check out this album
because I wanted to tune in on how Justin’s music has changed with the situation
revolving COVID and lockdown. What I got in this project as actually a good
time with a good amount of songs being groovy and when it felt repetitive, I
was given a good amount of guest features that brought back the energy.
This
album mostly revolves around love and Justin’s relationship with his wife, Hailey
Bieber. Right from the get-go with the first song “2 Much”, Justin opens his
heart and expresses all the things he sees in his wife that he cherishes and
adores. This vibe continues for the next two songs, having the third song “As I
Am” use Khalid to bring some flavor to this theme of love. From these three
songs, we get the formula for the rest of the project. The songs from here on
out suffer from a case of repetition as the lyrics of Justin’s love and faith
in his relationships seem to wear out quickly. While it is nice to hear Justin’s
voice on some chill, 80s inspired sounds, this album suffers monotony as a
whole. This is where the artist features
come in. There are a good number of features on this album, most notably being
Khalid, The Kid LAROI, Chance the Rapper, Dominic Fike, and Daniel Caesar. This
is what gives the listeners breaths of fresh air as we delve into the same concepts
from Justin but given different sounds through the amazing artists that are on
this project. And to Justin’s credit, he definitely has a good sense of knowing
what songs with which artist because each song with a feature does an amazing
job at capturing the unique sound each feature makes.
Besides
that, there’s not much to say. I do sense a much more mature Justin that has moved
on from the troubles of his past and is looking forward to a much peaceful and
productive future. His music reflects a lot of his values he’s treasured
through these last couple of years and it’s cool o`f him to create something
that reflects that. Overall, the album isn’t anything too special, but if you’re
looking to listen to some new songs to just vibe to, I’d recommend this album.
That’s all for now folks, take care.
